Enemies don't spawn except in mountains. Forests and dungeons are completely deserted.
Enemies in mountains tend to spawn right next to the entrance and you can get overwhelmed pretty fast.
Exploding symbols on floor tend to spawn right in front of a door and block the path in a way that forces the player to take damage if he wants to access the room behind the door.
